The KIM server is a self-contained installation. It can be backed up and restored in a very simple way.

Backup steps

  1. Stop the KIM server if started.
  2. Create an archive of the complete installation folder.

Restore steps

There are two different scenarios for restoring the KIM server.

Restore the existing KIM server

  1. Remove the KIM installation that needs to be replaced (due to corruption, etc.).
  2. Unpack the backup archive.

Migrate the KIM server to a new machine

  1. If the server is restored in a different environment, repeat the installation instructions.
  2. Unpack the backup archive.
  3. Redeploy the Web Applications to the servlet container.
