Search Description

Full text search

The full text search is a simple search. FTS can be accessed from any site page and is performed taking into consideration all documents, discussions, all the semantic repository with data objects and etc. At any time, you can search a object by typing keywords in the search box located at the upper right corner of the page and clicking the Search button.

Search results are displayed in a table. Click on the document's name to open it.

Search option will return the assets containing words that have the same stem as the word you entered into the "Keywords" field.
If you enter the world "Nuxeo", you will find the assets containing in their text metadata "Nuxeo".

Semantic search

Semantic search enables you to search object using more precise parameters. The search is performed only in project datasets (named graphs) to which the user has access. At any time, you can search a object by typing keywords in the semantic search box located at the upper right corner of the page and clicking the Semantic Search button.

Search is performed and the system displays a detailed list of the search result in the default view of the search results.

You can for instance select different FCs - object type, creator, date of creation, place, support material or technique of the searched object thereby incorporating the classic When, What, Where and Who.

By Object Type

Search of objects (Museum object - MO) with type "Painting" only. MO is composed of part1: painting and part2: frame.
When an object has type "Painting", then the search is performed in RKD_priref, E42_Identifier and RKD_object_record_number. Any one of priref, record number, inventory and catalog number associated or produced as a result has type "Painting" and are shown as results of our search.
When an object is composed of 2 parts (painting and frame) and one or both have type "Painting", then the search is performed in E22_Man-Made_Object. Any one of name, material, dating, remark on frame or painting associated or produced as a result has type "Painting" and are shown as results of our search.

By Place

Semantic search of MO by place is performed, searching for records containing the type rkd:place in the E12.Production and E22_Man-Made_Object. Each geographical location - remark on country/place of making of painting or frame, collection or auction location, place of exhibition and etc., corresponding to the search criteria and part of one of the following links is composed of, was produced by, take place on and has current permanent location is the result of the search.

By Actor

Semantic search of MO by actor is performed, searching for creator, actor, author, artist of painting or frame, etc. , containing the type rkd:person in the E21.Person, E39_Actor, E12.Production and E22_Man-Made_Object. Each artist name, framemaker name, loan giver name, etc., corresponding to the search criteria and part of one of the following links is composed of, was produced by, has current keeper, carried out by and has current permanent location is the result of the search.

By Material

Semantic search of MO by Material is performed, searching for material used for painting support or frame, containing the types rkd: support and rkd: frame in the 12.Production and E22_Man-Made_Object. Each material name of object support (painting) or of the frame, corresponding to the search criteria and part of one of the following links is composed of, was produced by, employed or consist of (is incorporated in) and has current permanent location is the result of the search.

By Technique

Semantic search of MO by Technique is performed, searching used technique, containing the type rkd: technique in the 12.Production and E22_Man-Made_Object. Each technique name of object support (painting) or of the frame, corresponding to the search criteria and part of one of the following links is composed of, was produced by, employed or used general technique and has current permanent location is the result of the search.
